So, I was at this party a few weeks ago and I started getting hammered – no, not on alcohol. In fact, I had but one shot of some whiskey or other over the four hours I was there – but, rather, hammered on why I wasn’t blogging anymore. This gentle critique started with one guy, then another – and before you know it, three or four people were all over me about getting back into blogging.
I told them that I was writing a second novel at present (not a sequel to “Death, Wish.”, my first published novel which is available on Amazon in either paperback or Kindle version) and didn’t have much time to devote to writing anything other than that – and AFTTER THAT, then the likely “Death, Wish.” sequel. Of course, one of these fine folk suggested it wouldn’t kill me to write both that second novel and pick up blogging again – at least now and then, on an occasional basis, when time permitted and all other sorts of assorted sugary.
That being said, here I am. Here, and not with Global Rhetoric any longer. I am here because I sort of had to kiss off Global Rhetoric last year when I went whole hog into writing my novel. No harm, no foul, no nothing bad – but I just wasn’t going to do it at the expected pace anymore…not that I’m going to pick it back up THAT MUCH now, either. For you see, Blogging I now do for free. Although my book is something like the One millionth best seller at Amazon (Seriously, I don’t know – have no idea), I do get royalties every month since it was published. It’s not making me rich, but it has been fairly steady income – which means that the book is still selling. So, yeah, Capitalist that I am, I will write more on my second novel than I will on these blog pages at Darkness Revisted. Plus, although there is no set into stone schedule I’m working on with my publisher, I kinda think she’s expecting another book be done sometime this calendar year.
The format of this blog will be different to a degree than the formats I’ve used in the past. For instance, in the past, I’ve always had a picture that I posted with each blog entry I wrote. With Darkness Revisited, I don’t know if that will always be the case. The other thing is that, previously, I tended to catch a topic, and drone on and on about it – until I slammed the door at the end of the blog piece. This blog may have a number of much shorter and smaller topics I write about in each entry. It might…but, then again, it might not. What the Hell am I saying here? How in the Hell should I know?
I’m just an occasional blogger.
And, now, I’m also an apologizer – at least I am on the following two things: When I was blogging last Spring, I endorsed Red Maryland’s Greg Kline in his quest to become the Chairman of the MDGOP. At that time, I knew Kline was a
Grade A A$$hole and I endorsed him anyway. And, for having done that, I am very sorry. Not really contrite, but I am sorry, so if y’all would accept my apology for that mammoth brain fart, I’d be most obliged. And, for thing number two, although I apologized to MDGOP Chair Diana Waterman for my drunken (not THAT bad) misdeeds at the Fall GOP Convention on a thread on my Facebook Page – I’d like to say again here and now, that I am sorry, Madame Chairwoman. And there, you have it.
I expect to be back – but I don’t know when, exactly. Maybe in a few days, maybe in a week or more. Maybe tomorrow. I’ve got no idea.
And, if that irritates you, too bad. You’ll get no apology from me.
