Two tidbits for y’all!
Vogt’s Sunday Funday…
To begin with, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank David Vogt for his service to our country as a marine. Further, I’d encourage anyone who reads this to thank him as well, should the opportunity to do so afford itself to you.
Perhaps many of you remember David Vogt as the guy who was going to challenge Dan Bongino in the 6th Congressional District GOP Primary – the winner of which would go on to take on incumbent Congressman John Delaney – he who pushes Obamacare all the while talking about how he’s not sure about it and how it’s a “flawed” law. Whatever…
Anyway, Vogt got the message he’d have gotten utterly destroyed in a head to head primary matchup with Bongino, and so he – Vogt – dropped out of that race. Now, however, David Vogt is running for Delegate in the 4th District of MD. Will he never learn?
Anyway, as my fellow blogger, Jeff Quinton, pointed out yesterday (One thing that sucks about being a blogger is that it seems we all have pretty much the same sources for a lot of stuff we write about) here: http://www.quintonreport.com/2014/03/11/david-vogt-claims-to-be-serving-chick-fil-a-at-a-sunday-event/, Vogt’s planned a Sunday Funday this coming Sunday at which he plans on serving Chick-Fil-A lunches. As Quinton does in his piece, I also wondered something along the lines of “Isn’t Chick-Fil-A closed on Sunday” for religious and family reasons? Since Quinton wrote his piece, at least one GOP activist has reported that apparently Vogt found a Chick-Fil-A that will open on Sunday to make the sandwiches for Vogt’s Sunday Funday. We shall see.
Now, let me say here and now that I quite enjoy Chick-Fil-A on occasion, and the following is in no way is meant to shine a bad light on them but rather is designed as a sick joke IF DAVID VOGT IS PLANNING ON SERVING REHEATED CHICKEN SANDWICHES .
(With apologies to the Bard):
Potential Ptomaine or not Ptomaine – that is the question. Whether ’tis nobler in the gut to suffer the slings and arrows of digestive malfeasance. Or to make a mockery against such troubles… And by ignoring, end them? To wretch, to sleep – Always; and by a sleep, to say we end the heartburn, and the thousand natural flushes the commode is heir to?
(No slates for me…well, not yet, anyway – so says, Michael Hough)
Speaking of District 4, I’d wanted to clarify a bit of confusion I’d heard – and that was that Delegate and State Senatorial Candidate Michael Hough may be running as part of a slate in the 4th, a slate which might feature David Vogt, among others.
And, as much as I love and respect Delegate Kelly Schulz and 4th District Delegate Candidate Wendi Peters as I wrote about here: https://darknessrevisited.wordpress.com/2014/02/27/the-delightful-delegate-from-frederick-says/ I do differ with them on who I’d rather see get elected Senator, Michael Hough or the incumbent Senator David Brinkley – the latter of whom voted for Governor O’Malley’s budget.
So, anyway, based upon some rumblings I was hearing, I asked Michael Hough if he was running as part of a slate, and here’s what he told me:
“No slate as of now. I’m willing to do joint things together if there are delegates who are conservative and want to work together.”
So, as of right now, Michael Hough is slate-less. When I thanked him for his answer and told him that I’d seen a few things hinting that he was in a slate with “Vogt and others,” he added:
“Right now it’s just me, but not opposed to working with others as long as they are conservative.”
And there you have it, direct from Michael Hough. I’d rather see Michael Hough wing it alone – and, I’m hoping there’s a lot of “slate-splitter” votes out there in the 4th District.
But, that’s just me.
