Maryland Governor, Larry Hogan, remains “hopeful”
“Hopeful” is an interesting word, isn’t it? It has, over time, become pretty much synonomous with “Not going to do anything” other than sit and wait.
Even when you’re waiting for a bunch of pit vipers, apparently.
What the Governor remains “hopeful” about can be found in this Baltimore Sun article:
The pit vipers, in this instance, the “leaders” of the Maryland Democrats in Annapolis, Senate Prez Mike Miller and House Speaker, Michael Busch, and their numerous minions who have decided until pretty much the last minute (tonight is Sine Die, folks!) to balk at Hogan’s budget proposal. Who amongst you didn’t see this coming?
The Party of “No,” the MDDEMS have struck at the last minute, as any good little pit viper would. And, yet, as the poison is soon to be coursing through his veins, GOP Governor, Larry Hogan, remains…wait for it…“hopeful.”
Now, I’ve got to tell you, I’d have voted against Larry Hogan’s budget as it was first presented, too – and Hell, I may even be against it now as it still spends WAY TOO MUCH MONEY. But, the Dems basic bitch-fest here is over the fact that it’s cut too much for their liking. Are they f*cking kidding?! Get ready for the MDDEMS to push for new tax increases relatively soon.
Uh, no, they’re not kidding – and as a result of that, they’re doing what some of us have known all along that they were going to do. They’re not budging. Well, they’re not budging until they do budge, anyway.
Whatever, THIS – these ridiculous bullshit games the Democrats re now playing – is precisely what I was getting at when I wrote a few months back about why I would have “Executive Ordered” everything of any importance to me. Even if every one of my Executive Orders were shot down in Court, there would have been no doubt where I stood. And, even if every one of them had been shot down in court, I’d have beaten the Dems over the head with THAT very fact every single day.
Because, once you release people from taxation and replenish their freedoms, something tells me that a great number of Democrats would be getting their doors blown off come election time if, suddenly, all of those newfound freedoms from tyranny of the voters were suddenly again placed atop the backs of these same voters.
Yeah, I’d have issued Executive Orders left and right – right off the bat. But then, I’m serious about this game…which is no longer a game of how long will it take for things to change but has become a game of “We want things to change and we want them to change now.” As in, right now.
Yeah, I’d have done that.
Or, I’d have sat around remaining “hopeful.”
